Te Kowhai residents and businesses invited to share views

Te Kowhai residents and businesses invited to share views on development

Residents and business owners in the Te Kowhai area are being invited to an information day where they can share their views about long term development in their town and surrounding areas.

The information day on Monday 14 October is being held at Te Kowhai Hall from 3-7pm, with people invited to attend at any time during the session.

Waikato District Council is in the early stages of working on a structure plan for the wider area including Ngaruawahia, Glen Massey, Horotiu and Taupiri, with the information days the first steps in developing a long term framework for the area.

The session offers an opportunity for residents and business owners to find out more about what is involved in the structure plan process, to share their views, and decide if they wish to be more involved by being part of a reference group.

Tony Whittaker, General Manager Strategy and Support, says the information day is a good opportunity for residents to play a part in the future of their town and the surrounding area.

“We’re keen to hear from people about how they would like to see their area develop to meet future growth and the needs of their community. Come along and learn about the opportunities and constraints in this area, share your views with our planning team, and if you want to play a bigger part then join up to be a member of the reference group.”

Information days were held in Ngaruawahia, Glen Massey, Horotiu and Taupiri in August, and residents and business owners from those areas are also welcome to attend this information day.
