Baldwin Street Mural

Baldwin Street Mural

Dunedin (Monday 7 October) Keep Dunedin Beautiful is co-ordinating the painting of a mural at the top of Baldwin Street. Artist Daniel Mead, who has become well known in Dunedin for his historic artwork, has been commissioned to paint the mural.

Community groups and schools in the North East Valley were consulted and Mr Mead visited with North East Valley students to get their ideas for the design. From their input, the design will be a representation of Baldwin St with the Jaffa race taking place. It will also include native birds found at the nearby ecosanctuary and a painted scroll with statistics about the street gradient.

Mr Mead will be working on fine days in an effort to have it completed by Thursday 17 October in time for the ANZA Challenge up the street.
