Central Plains Water extends deadline a week

1 November 2013

PRESS RELEASE

Central Plains Water extends deadline a week

Slow rural deliveries and sufficient time for processing last minute applications has forced Central Plains Water Ltd to extend its deadline for shareholder commitment for the 60,000ha scheme until November 8.

Chief executive Derek Crombie said that it was quickly becoming obvious that some farmers were only posting their cheques today and it could be Monday or Tuesday before they would be received and processed.

“The phones have been hot over the last few days with shareholders seeking more information on how to complete the application forms”.

To be consistent CPWL is extending the share offer deadline for both Stage I Construction Shares and Stage II & III Pre-Construction shares.

The scheme will become an anchor project for central Canterbury with the ability to generate long term economic and employment benefits.  It will be as important as the anchor projects proposed for the central city.
