Funding Resources Featured at Dunedin City
Library
Dunedin (Friday, 1 November 2013) –
Community organisations, clubs and students in search of
funding or scholarships should visit the Dunedin City
Library on 11 November.
Funding Information Services is holding a free seminar showing how to find the best source of funds for your needs from more than 1200 grants and more than 4000 scholarships.
The presentation will help students, professionals, researchers, sportspeople or artists, or volunteer/community groups looking for funding for administration costs, building redevelopment, salaries, volunteer expenses, equipment or furniture.
All the Dunedin Public Libraries provide free access to funding opportunities for groups and individuals via New Zealand Fundview and Breakout listings. Fundview focuses on funding for community groups and Breakout is for people who want to find out about awards, scholarships and grants available to New Zealanders for personal development, especially in the academic, artistic, research and sporting fields. Both databases are regularly updated, comprehensive and easy to use. They include a calendar outlining when applications are due and the application criteria required by each funding agency. These sites, compiled and organised by Funding Information Services, also provide advice in areas such as running meetings, preparing funding applications and developing business and marketing plans.
The funding seminar runs from 10am to 11am and will provide an overview of these excellent resources, with tips on how to use them to maximum advantage.
