Auckland’s Southern Motorway re-opens

4 November 2013 l NZ Transport Agency – Auckland Region

Auckland’s Southern Motorway re-opens

All three southbound lanes of Auckland’s Southern Motorway (State Highway 1) at Greenlane have re-opened after a concrete truck crashed near the Greenlane interchange earlier this afternoon.

The NZ Transport Agency says congestion remains heavy and may take some time for the queues to clear during the afternoon peak. Queues are back to Bond Street on the Northwetern Motorway, and to the Auckland harbour Bridge on SH1, and the Transport Agency asks for drivers to be patient and to drive with care.

The truck crashed and rolled just south of the Greenlane interchange. The Transport Agency says it has now been moved, and debris cleared from the motorway so that it is safe for drivers.
