Head to McKenzie Baths for a ripper family weekend

It’s celebration time this weekend at McKenzie Baths in Petone as our pool opens for summer after a $2.3 million major redevelopment.

“We’ve got 10-cent entry all weekend and a ton of fun for families to enjoy, says Stephen Keatley, Hutt City Council’s Recreation Facilities Manager.

“People can use our great new facilities for the first time this weekend, can autograph the pool concrete in fat chalk, pick up a commemorative swimming cap and poster and enjoy a fundraiser sausage sizzle.”

The redeveloped McKenzie Baths facility has a 25-metre main pool with access ramp, a 15-metre learners’ pool with toddlers’ pool attached, a splash pad, and a barbecue and picnic area. Both pools are heated.

Owing to safety reasons, only 300 people will be let into the pool at a time.

The pool is open on Saturday 16 November and Sunday 17 November from 10am – 6pm.

Full opening hours are on our website: http://huttcity.govt.nz/pools
