Popular Pixie Town Opening Soon
Popular Pixie Town Opening Soon
Dunedin (Wednesday, 20 November 2013) – Christmas arrives at Toitū Otago Settlers Museum when Pixie Town opens on Monday, 9 December.
Visitors will be able to enjoy the historic exhibition, visit Santa, make Christmas crafts, dress up like a pixie or relax with a Christmas book.
The Toitū OSM team is working hard to prepare the exhibit for another busy season. Cadbury is not holding its Santa's Grotto this year, so visitors can get into the Christmas spirit and have their Santa photos taken at the Museum.
Visitor Experience Manager Kirsty Glengarry says, "It will be my first time seeing Pixie Town and I'm fascinated to see this Dunedin icon. I have heard lots of people fondly recalling their experience of Pixie Town as children and I know they all bring their own children back to visit the pixies."
Pixie Town will be open from 10am - 12pm and 1pm - 4pm from 9 December until 2 January, apart from Christmas Day when the Museum is closed. The exhibition will also be open 5pm – 7pm on Thursdays until Christmas Eve. Photos with Santa are available from 14 December to 24 December.
Pixie-themed items will also be available in the Museum shop.
