Media advisory: Nominations open for by-election
Nominations are now open for the Te Kauwhata Licensing Trust byelection following a vacancy created by insufficient nominations at the recent local elections.
Five nominations were received in October for the six vacancies on the Trust, requiring the by-election to be held.
The close of nominations is noon
on Monday 16 December. Nomination papers are available
from:
• Waikato District Council Offices, 15
Galileo St, Ngaruawahia
• Waikato District
Council Te Kauwhata Office, 1 Main Rd, Te Kauwhata
•
By phoning the Electoral Office on 0800 922 822
To be
eligible to stand for election, a candidate must be:
•
enrolled as a Parliamentary elector; and
• a
New Zealand citizen; and
• reside in the Te
Kauwhata Licensing Trust area.
The cost of the by-election is being met by Te Kauwhata Licensing Trust.
