Drainage plans latest in series of online services

Private drainage plans are now available free from Hutt City Council’s website, www.huttcity.govt.nz

Council’s Helen Oram, Divisional Manager Environmental Consents, says the new online service is the latest in a series, including online resource and building consent applications, designed to make it easier for customers to obtain local private property information and do business with council.
“We know our customers are busy people and making information such as private drainage plans available online means they can get the plans they need instantly, at a time that suits them best.

“Private drainage plans can help identify where the drains on a particular property are and are essential prior to starting any drainage work. They’re also important before considering any building work or earthworks on a property to avoid accidently digging up and disturbing drains which can be costly to fix.
“This new online service is sure to be welcome news for home owners considering drainage work over the prime summer months and registered drain layers who rely on these plans day-to-day.”

Property owners wanting all the information council holds on a property can order a Land Information Memorandum (LIM). LIMs can also be ordered online via council’s website.
