State Highway 29 to Te Poi road closed used alternate route

The NZ Transport Agency says A section of State Highway 29 to Te Poi is closed due to a serious crash, motorists are asked to use alternate routes.

Traffic heading to or from Tauranga and Auckland are asked to use State Highway 2, motorists travelling between Hamilton and Tauranga should use State Highway 5.

The road is likely to remain closed until 6.00pm today, and some delays are currently being experienced in the area, the Transport Agency recommends drivers delay their travel if planning to go through this area or to use the recommended alternate routes.
 
The NZ Transport Agency’s website is regularly updated with information about most closures and detours at www.nzta.govt.nz/traffic.  This information is also available by phoning the Transport Agency’s free phone on 0800 4HIGHWAYS (0800 44 44 49), which can also be used to report any significant road issues or hazards.
