Hastings Fiesta of Lights 2013
Lighting up Hawke’s Bay
• The 14th Fiesta of Lights
offers a warm and welcoming place for people of all ages to
enjoy twinkling lights and 40 unique displays along a
kilometre long trail over 22 nights during the Christmas
holiday period.
• Cinderella’s
coach, Jack and the beanstalk and 100,000 fairylights have
been added this year to keep the display looking fresh for
return visitors and an exciting experience for new
audiences.
• For a second year the
spectacular Unison Christmas tree transforms into playful
images synchronized precisely to music.

Old favorites return including the time tunnel,
running man, hopping frogs, jumping deer, swinging kiwis, a
fiery sea monster and an eye catching 30m wide nativity
scene.
• Entry is from Karamu Road
and the cost is $4 person. Under 3 free. New Year’s Eve is
$5. Children under 3 are free. Eftpos available.
• Gates open at 9:00pm to 11pm nightly
14th December to 4thJanuary including Christmas and New
Year’s Day. No alcohol, glass or pets in the grounds.
Dress comfortably and wear walking shoes.
New Year’s Eve Celebration – 8.00pm to 11pm 31 December
• On New Year’s Eve
Fiesta of Lights hosts an alcohol free family celebration to
welcome the New Year with arts, ritual, entertainment and
fireworks for kiddies at 9.45pm. Entertainment includes
international street performer Fraser Hooper, classic hits
band Pulse and a spectacular fireworks display to music.
The family event closes at 11pm. $5 entry. Under 3 free.
Entry from Karamu Rd and Kenilworth Road.

Fiesta of Lights is managed by the Public Dreams
Trust, a charitable non profit organisation with a mandate
to build community pride through the arts. The
organisation assists the Hastings Blossom Festival Parade
and NBL Hawks home game entertainment.

The event is supported by 100 volunteers and
grants from Hastings District Council, NZ Lotteries, Eastern
& Central Community Trust, Creative Communities, Unison,
First Light Foundation and 89.5 Classic Hits.

Money raised is used to purchase new light
displays and pay for ground
rental.
