Water Restrictions in Palmerston lifted

Water Restrictions in Palmerston North City and Linton have been lifted

This week’s wet weather has allowed for Level Two Water Restrictions in Palmerston North and Linton to be lifted.

Water asset engineer, Dora Lou says while the Turitea Dam is still lower than we’d like it to be at this time of the year, this week’s rain, cooler Autumnal weather and the prediction of more rain tomorrow and next week has allowed us to lift the restrictions.

“I’d like to thank residents for reducing their water use in the last few weeks. Despite the dry conditions there was a marked reduction in water consumption in the city following the introduction of Level Two Water Restrictions.”

Dora says it’s reassuring to know that most people, when asked, will go the extra mile and reduce consumption.
