Man airlifted to hospital after being struck by hammer
The Tauranga based Trustpower TECT Rescue helicopter was dispatched to Waihi where a local man had become unwell after accidently being struck on the head by a hammer.
The
man had been doing some home maintenance when he was struck
on the head by a falling hammer. The hammer had been sitting
on the top step of a ladder and while the man moved the
ladder the hammer fell striking the man on the head.
He
felt OK initially but about half an hour later he became
unwell. The patient, a 51 year old, was flown to Waikato
hospital in a serious condition.
