Save the date for Hutt City Discovery Day
Sometimes it’s really easy to overlook what’s in your own backyard but Discovery Day is set to change that with a family-friendly day out that opens up local organisations, places and facilities.
Discovery Day, on Sunday 12 October, will showcase a range of local sites and activities with entry either free or by gold coin donation.
Participants will first pick up a treasure map then collect stamps at each location they visit to go in the draw to win great prizes, including Interislander and Air New Zealand travel vouchers.
Dowse Square will have a free sausage sizzle, face painting for the kids, a bouncy castle and the chance for people to meet and talk to local councillors.
A full list of locations is still being
negotiated but so far includes:
• The Dowse
Art Museum
• All Hutt City pools
•
Belmont Regional Park (Oakley St)
• The Old
Jail in Petone
• Te Maori cultural centre,
