Creative NZ Māori and Pacific Arts Hui
Creative NZ Māori and Pacific Arts Hui
Palmerston North communities boast a wealth of talented
Māori and Pacific artists and Creative New Zealand want to
encourage more of them to apply for funding.
Creative NZ will host a Hui on Tuesday 23 September at 5.30pm to discuss funding for Māori and Pacific artists. The Hui will be held at The Pacifika Centre, Havelock Ave. There will be an opportunity to ask questions and discuss projects.
“We know many of those artists are not aware of the different types of funding available or how to put together a compelling application,” Adrian Turner Palmerston North City Council project coordinator said.
Guest speakers at the Hui will be, Haniko Te Kurapa, manager of Māori Arts Funding and Makerita Urale, senior arts advisor – Pacific Arts, both from Creative NZ, who will present an overview of the various funding streams available.
“Haniko and Makerita will break down the various Creative NZ funding streams and offer insights in to how artists and groups can improve the way they present projects to funders,” Adrian said.
The Hui is open to all interested parties.
