Snowboarder Injured in Collision
The Palmerston North based Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Turoa Ski Field at around 11:30 this morning [9 October] after an 18 year old snowboarder was injured after colliding with another snowboarder. He suffered head injuries and was stabilised by Turoa medical staff and St John paramedics before being airlifted to Wanganui for further treatment. The helicopter was dispatched due to the nature of the injuries and the distance involved.
