Work on Kamo Road this weekend

News Release

Work on Kamo Road this weekend

Drivers are advised to plan for delays and allow for increased drive time while work is carried out on Kamo Road on Thursday, Friday and this weekend.

Hotmix will be laid on Kamo Road, between Mains Avenue and Keyte Street on Thursday 30 October and Friday night, 31 October.

Reconstruction of the railway crossing approaches will start on 1 November and take approximately 2 days to complete.

The work will begin at 7am with manual traffic control setup at the rail crossing, providing only one way traffic movements between 7am and 9am on the Saturday morning for the island removals.

After 9am, while the pavement reconstruction works are carried out, traffic will be able to flow in both directions with a speed restriction imposed for worker and public safety.

The work will be isolated to one side of the road or the other at any one time to allow two-way traffic flow but with reduced lane widths.

Drivers are advised to drive with caution and allow extra time to reach their destination.
