Hutt to host ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy
this Sunday
Lucky Hutt City locals have a chance to see the ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy this Sunday when it visits Petone.
The trophy will be at Petone Recreation Ground from 11:00am to 3:00pm on Sunday, 16 November.
Mayor Wallace says, “We’re pleased to welcome the Cricket World Cup trophy to Petone Rec., I hope all of our cricket enthusiasts make the most of this opportunity to join in activities, and celebrate the history of this great game.”
It's been 22 years since New Zealand last hosted the ICC Cricket World Cup in 1992 and there will be as many days spent travelling the length and breadth of the country on the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 New Zealand Trophy Tour.
Each event will feature a 72
square metre interactive exhibition on the history of the
tournament, cricket skills challenges, giveaways and the
chance to get your free photo with the ICC Cricket World Cup
Trophy. Fans can also expect to meet a cricketing hero.
There will be other stops each day that take in smaller
towns and some of New Zealand's most iconic locations -
among them Cape Reinga and Bluff.
It is free to visit the ICC Cricket World Cup Trophy.
