Northland to Host Tourism New Zealand Staff Forum

Northland to Host Tourism New Zealand Staff Forum

Northland will play host to more than 90 Tourism New Zealand (TNZ) staff from its Auckland, Wellington and Sydney offices during November.

TNZ is holding its staff forum in Northland, spending time in the Hokianga before heading to the Bay of Islands to round off their trip.

Northland Inc has worked closely with TNZ and Northland operators to create an effective itinerary which allows TNZ staff to come together, workshop and plan for the year ahead, whilst also giving them the chance to experience some of Northland’s top tourism product and to learn more about the region’s stories.

Northland is promoted as being “New Zealand’s first land”. The region has many stories already pertaining to its unique heritage, culture and experiences which will be shared with TNZ during their visit.

Northland Inc Chief Executive, David Wilson, says that this is a fantastic chance to showcase Northland to an organisation which markets New Zealand to the world.

“TNZ is a key partner in marketing our region internationally, so giving so many of its staff first-hand experience of some of our key tourism offerings is an exciting opportunity. We are looking forward to hosting TNZ and are rapt at the support we have had from the industry in creating a Northland experience for TNZ.”

TNZ Chief Executive Kevin Bowler says, “The staff forum is an exciting opportunity to bring together members of the organisation who rarely get the opportunity to be in the same place at the same time.

“The three days will be spent taking stock of the organisation’s progress and to focus on ongoing development for the organisation, for teams and for individuals.

“We would like to thank Northland for their support and look forward to experiencing some of what the Northland region has to offer New Zealand’s international visitors.”

The three day forum will run from Monday 17 November to Wednesday 18 November.
