ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 Trophy Tour comes to Christchurch
The opening of the ICC Cricket World Cup
2015 is now less than 100 days away and this week sees the
Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour visit Christchurch.
After a busy week travelling the country, the Trophy Tour comes to Christchurch this weekend, where fans can share in the exciting build up to one of the world's biggest sporting occasions.
Christchurch Mayor Lianne Dalziel says the visit of the World Cup Trophy signals how great 2015 will be for Christchurch.
"With the Cricket World Cup Trophy in town, this is a great opportunity for all of us in Christchurch to get out and show the people, both nationally and internationally, how excited we are to welcome one of the world's biggest sporting events."
"The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 will create a really festival atmosphere here in Christchurch. I'd encourage everyone to get along to see the World Cup Trophy and join in with the festivities this weekend in Burwood Park and next Monday at The Commons."

* Saturday 22 November, 10am to 2pm at Burwood Park, New Brighton Road: The Cricket World Cup Trophy Tour arrives in Christchurch on Saturday in Burwood Park where a family-friendly fun-day will provide the opportunity for fans can to get their photo taken with the Cricket World Cup and pitch their cricketing wits in the 'Skill-Zones'.
* Monday 24 November, 6am to 10am at The Commons (Gap Filler site at the corner of Kilmore and Durham streets): The Trophy Tour continues with a long-breakfast on Monday morning where Mayor Lianne Dalziel will welcome the Trophy Tour into the city. We will also be joined by some special guests, breakfast TV and performances from our multi-cultural communities.
