Preliminary Ohura Referendum Results as Soon as Available

Council to Release Preliminary Ohura Referendum Results as Soon as Available

Ruapehu District Council (RDC) will post the preliminary result on the Ohura Water Treatment Plant referendum on its website and Facebook page next Thursday 27th November.

RDC Group Manager Customer Services, Pauline Welch, said that Electionz.com the independent organisation running the referendum will be providing the preliminary results to council around 2.00pm that day.

“The referendum closes next Thursday 27 November at 12.00pm and so there is still plenty of time for stakeholders to vote if they have not done so,” she said.

“As well as returning their vote via post votes can be delivered at RDC’s Huia St office in Taumarunui.”

“As soon as we have the preliminary results they will be posted on council’s website (www.ruapehudc.govt.nz) and Facebook page (www.facebook.com/ruapehudc).”

“Electionz.com will be sent any final voting papers received at council’s Taumarunui office before 12.00pm on Thursday via courier overnight.”

“After these have been checked and counted the final result will be announced.”

“Council expects that the final result will be confirmed and announced early in the following week of 1 December.”

“The final results will also be posted on our website and Facebook page as soon as they are available as well as being published in the Ruapehu Press on Wednesday 10 December 2014.”

Ms Welch noted that no matter what the outcome it is important that all possible eligible voters have their say.
