Auckland’s first underwater splash playground unveiled in time for summer
Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium offers customers a fun and innovation new attraction

Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium lead the way as the world’s first ‘underwater’ aquarium and the iconic attraction this week unveils Auckland’s first underwater splash playground.

From Saturday December 20, the new Shipwreck Shores playground designed by Arterial Design will be open to the public, including the much anticipated splash table where children are able to experience the joys of water play.
The 60 square metre play area marks one of the many exciting activities planned to celebrate Kelly Tarlton’s 30th anniversary in January next year.

Set to spark imaginations, Shipwreck Shores incorporates a soft play area where adventurous youngsters can sneak a peek at a hidden fish tank, a chill out zone, and for those brave enough a seacave crawl lit with secret lighting to guide their way!

Kelly Tarlton’s SEA LIFE Aquarium’s Sales and Marketing Manager, Claire Wheeler commented, “Kelly Tarlton’s previous playground was over five years old and with our 30th birthday in January we decided it was time for a refresh. Shipwrecks in nature provide rich new habitats for creatures to grow, and like them, our Shipwreck themed playground is a place of fun and adventure, and if you look hard enough you may discover hidden natural wonders.”

Located beside Stingray Bay and café, parents can enjoy a flat white while watching the little ones explore in the fully fenced Shipwreck Shores next door.
