Daring Documentary breaks New Zealand Shores
Daring Documentary breaks New Zealand Shores
One of
Auckland’s small, but motivated community groups, the
Auckland Women’s Centre, highlights the controversial
topic of abortion rights with the screening of daring
documentary, Vessel.
The Auckland Women’s Centre is proud to be bringing the film Vessel to New Zealand’s shores for the first time, at the Capitol Cinema on the 22nd of March.
This documentary tells the story of feminist Rebecca Gomperts and her mission to challenge the anti-abortion laws with the project ‘Women on Waves’.
The story follows the creation of an underground network of feminists, working at the forefront of global reproductive rights, fighting for women to regain their bodily autonomy.
Film critics in America have described the film as “A powerful, knock-your-socks-off documentary that will strike fear in your hearts and remind you to get out and fight for what’s right!” by Bust Magazine.
This documentary promises to open the eyes of those watching, giving insight into the lives of disadvantaged women and those who are determined to change this status quo.
This event is part of The Auckland Women's Centre's fundraising activities, to ensure its continued support for the empowerment of women. To buy tickets, call 09 376 3227 or email info@womenz.org.nz.
