Call out to Urewera National Park

The Rotorua based BayTrust Rescue helicopter was dispatched to a remote area to the north of Ruatahuna at 4pm yesterday afternoon, after a 61yr old male became ill. Due to the remote area and the fact there were no roads to this address, another person rode out by horse to raise the alarm. The helicopter was then sent with a paramedic to retrieve the man. He was fown back to Rotorua hospital in a stable condition.
