Summer of Colour Continues at Viaduct Corner: This Week’s Programme
Auckland’s Summer of Colour continues this
week at Viaduct Corner - a vibrant urban space on
Auckland’s waterfront offering social activities, creative
events and entertainment for Aucklanders and visitors of all
ages. Check out this week’s programme for music, food and
much more...
For a genuine lift to your midweek, hit up the Viaduct Corner between 11.30am and 12.30pm this Wednesday 25 February for Summer of Colour Lunchtime Series. With food, beverages, giant games of Jenga and Connect 4, and beats from DJ Tido for your lunch break, it’s the perfect chance for an outdoor meeting or some relaxed recreation. It’s the last week of Bike Wise Month, and Auckland Transport’s mechanic is back on site offering free cycle safety checks, tips and advice on bike maintenance -- so dust off that bike seat and pedal on down.
Summer of Colour Clubhouse is rearing to go on Saturday 28 February, when from 12:00noon until 4:00pm, Viaduct Corner will be transformed into a child’s paradise. With water-themed LEGO challenges, prizes and supervised workshopping sessions, Summer of Colour Clubhouse provides a positive and creative weekend activity in a fresh urban environment the whole family will enjoy. Food and beverage vendors are on site for when hunger gets the better of the fun.
The waterfront magic continues into the evening with Summer of Colour Night Tales from 6:00pm until 9:00pm; a boutique urban marketplace rich with colour, food and live beats from DJ Kina Cuts. Indulge in an array of local food vendors and free scheduled entertainment, perfect for families, friends, workmates and visitors to Auckland City.
Summer of Colour Night Tales return to Viaduct Corner on the evening of Sunday 1 March, from 6:00pm to 9:00pm. With all the trimmings of a specially curated marketplace, Sunday evening’s event also features a lantern installation to celebrate the Chinese New Year, and DJ Chris Cox on the decks to keep everyone’s ears entertained.
Be sure to get down to Viaduct Corner this weekend for Summer of Colour: a fresh, new space in Auckland’s Viaduct Harbour, with creative activities, events and entertainment for family and friends.
