How to get to the Black Caps match on Saturday

Catch public transport or walk the fan trail to cheer on the Black Caps

The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 comes to Auckland this Saturday and public transport is the easiest way to get to Eden Park to see the action. New Zealand takes on Australia in a match starting at 2pm. Travel on trains and special event buses is included with your match ticket.

The recent NRL Nines at Eden Park saw a record 67% of the crowd using special event buses or trains to get to and from Eden Park.

Auckland Transport’s operations manager for special events, Logan Christian, says this shows that public transport is the best way to get to and from the sold-out venue.

Bus

Travel on special event buses is included with your match ticket. Services operate to Eden Park from Auckland City Centre, Northern Busway stations, Takapuna, Manukau, Pakuranga, Botany, Newmarket and Mt Eden.

Full details on service times and pick-up and drop-off points are on our website and remember to keep your match ticket for the ride home.

Train

Travel on trains from 12pm to 3pm and until the end of service post match is included with your match ticket. Remember to keep your match ticket for the ride home.

Western Line:

Additional trains will operate from the west with event trains terminating at Morningside Station, a short walk from Eden Park.

A mobility shuttle will operate before and after the match for patrons between Morningside Station and Eden Park.

After the match, Morningside is the station for passengers travelling west.

Southern/Eastern Line:

Extra trains will operate on the Southern and Eastern Lines to Britomart where you can transfer onto Western Line services to Kingsland Station.

After the match, Kingsland will be the station to use for fans heading back to Britomart where you can transfer onto Eastern and Southern Line trains.

Ferry

The Downtown Ferry Terminal is next to the Britomart Transport Centre; ferry passengers can easily change to a bus or train to get to Eden Park. Normal fares apply on the ferries.

Road closures

During the ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 there will be road closures and parking restrictions in the vicinity of Eden Park. Full details here: https://at.govt.nz/about-us/news-events/eden-park-event-road-closures/

Please note there will be some mobility parking available on Cricket Ave.

Cycling and Walking

There is some bike parking at Eden Park and the ground is an easy walk from many of Auckland’s inner suburbs, it’s a comfortable 50 minute walk from Auckland’s city centre.
