SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust calls for applications

SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust calls for applications

Applications are now open for SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust, and local community groups in the Auckland and Far North regions are encouraged to apply for funding now.

This year the Trust welcomes new Chairman John Bongard replacing Arthur Loo, who retires after being with the Trust for eight years.

SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust is committed to making positive, ongoing change and supporting healthy communities. Several focus areas have been outlined to assist the Trust in their decision making and guide potential applicants. These include financial capability, employment and economic prosperity, pathways to employment and economic prosperity, and healthy and stable families.

SKYCITY Auckland General Manager John Mortensen says it’s important that SKYCITY is connected to the local community, and through SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust it’s able to engage in a way that makes a real impact to local people.

“There are plenty of opportunities to make a positive difference, and I look forward to hearing about the great work these groups are achieving in their communities.”

SKYCITY Auckland Community Trust Chairman John Bongard says, the Trust has made financial capability, employment and families a priority and applicants who operate in one or more of the focus areas outlined will be welcomed.

“We also encourage community led organisations, or those who take a collaborative approach with their work to apply. Last year we funded adult education group COMET Auckland who are taking a community-led approach in Tamaki and Randwick Park to raise financial literacy skills, and the High Tech Youth Network who work with school-aged children encouraging an interest in information technology and access to equipment – it’s been heartening to see these groups progress over the last year.”

“On behalf of the Trust I would like to thank outgoing Trust Chairman Arthur Loo for his dedication and long-serving Trustee Vivien Bridgwater for her service.”

Guidance notes and the application form are available online here www.skycityauckland.co.nz/about-us/community/grants/ or email enquiries@skycitycommunitytrust.org.nz. Applications close on Friday 27 March at 5pm.
