NEXT Woman of the Year is back for 2015 and entries are now open.
Currently in its sixth year, NEXT Woman of The Year, in association with Pandora, is the first award of its kind to recognise New Zealand women in six distinctive fields: Health & Science, Arts & Culture, Sports, Business, Community and Education.
“We have the opportunity to celebrate women in all kinds of arenas who are making a difference. From coroners to community workers and CEOs of multi-million-dollar companies to directors of animal rescue clinics, the diversity of nominees is astounding,” says NEXT editor Sarah Henry. “I’m excited to see what phenomenal women this year attracts.”
NEXT Woman of The Year was launched in 2010 and was won by Dr Emma Parry, Clinical Director of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Starship Children’s Hospital.
Past winners also include Lesley Elliott, founder of the Sophie Elliott Foundation, Julie Bartlett, former CEO of StarJam, Julie Chapman, CEO of KidsCan and last year’s supreme winner, Sita Selupe, Principal of Rise Up Academy, New Zealand’s first Pacific charter school.
“The competition is not about prizes or such like; it is all for showcasing the enormous talent, passion and dedication these women have, and telling and demonstrating the true value of their work, which often goes unnoticed,” Henry says.
If you are, or know of, a remarkable woman who deserves some recognition, nominate them now!
Entries to NEXT Woman of the Year are open online at www.next.co.nz/woty or email womanoftheyear@bauermedia.co.nz for more details.
Entries close 12pm, July 31, 2015.
