Time to recognise city’s volunteers

Time to recognise city’s volunteers

Nominations for Hutt City Council’s Civic Awards are now open.

The annual awards celebrate the contribution volunteers make to help others in our community and Mayor Ray Wallace is encouraging people to nominate those who’ve made a difference.

“Our city has a wealth of community-minded people who give their time in the service of others.

“They do a fantastic job without expecting anything in return and the Civic Awards are an opportunity to recognise their hard work and properly thank them for their commitment.”

Nominations are open in two categories:

• Voluntary Community Service: recognising outstanding, long-term voluntary community service.

• Youth Service: recognising outstanding voluntary community service by those aged 15-25.

Nominations forms can be downloaded from the Council websitehuttcity.govt.nz/civicawards

Forms are also available from Council’s building at 531 High Street or Hutt City libraries.

Nominations close 5pm, Friday 3 July 2015.
