More than 220 submissions on Riccarton Road bus priority
Christchurch City Council staff are assessing comments from more than 220 responses on the proposed changes to Riccarton Road.
"After inviting submissions on the Riccarton Road bus priority measures over the past four weeks, staff have started the task of processing and considering the feedback from submitters," says Assets and Networks Unit Manager Chris Gregory.
"With about half of the responses considered, most people have indicated they are supportive of the overall approach to improving bus and cycle flows along Riccarton Road.
"We are considering all feedback, including the Central Riccarton options, and the resulting proposal will be presented to elected members who will make a decision on how to proceed."
Mr Gregory advises that people can still be involved in the decision making process.
The proposals will be considered by the Riccarton / Wigram and Hagley / Ferrymead Community Boards in July and the final decision will be made by the Infrastructure, Transport and Environment Committee in August. Members of the public and organisations can ask to speak to any of these public meetings.
