Man suffers neck injury from fall in Taupo
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was dispatched to Taupo Hospital at approximately 10 pm last night to retrieve a 63 year old Taupo man.
Earlier in the day the man had fallen down a bank and suffered a serious head injury in a carpark near the lakefront. He was initially taken to Taupo Hospital where he received treatment and the decision was made to call the Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter. The helicopter carried an on-board Waikato Hospital Emergency Department Doctor and the patient was transported swiftly from Taupo to Waikato Hospital for further specialist treatment.
