Network summary for week ending 21 June

Electricity
An over height truck brought down lines in two places in Glenfield on Saturday, resulting in an outage to customers.
Emergency services requested that Vector isolate power to house fires in New Lynn, East Tamaki and Glen Eden.
Vector poles had to be replaced after car v pole incidents in Remuera, Manly, Te Atatu and Onehunga South during the week. A council street light was struck by a car in Manurewa, and our crews were on hand to make the site safe and refer it to the council. There was also a car v pole in Henderson.
Gas
There were two reports of gas odours in Hamilton and one in Auckland during the week. Our crews attended, and made the necessary repairs.
Projects
Vector’s new zone substation at Flat Bush will be livened next month. The substation grounds and the buildings are complete, with electrical installation work underway.
This new
substation has been built to answer the growing demand for
power in the Flat Bush area, a region of Auckland undergoing
intense development. Around 36,000 people will call Flat
Bush home by 2025, and Vector is proud to be providing key
infrastructure for this growth area in Auckland.
