Commissioning team travel district

The Southern District Health Board Commissioner team, Kathy Grant (Commissioner), Graham Crombie and Richard Thomson (Deputy Commissioners) are travelling the district for the next two weeks for a series of meetings with staff and visits to community facilities.

“It is essential that we engage with staff and community leaders early on and we are looking forward to talking to a cross section of people during these visits,” Mrs Grant said.

“It is critical that we engage with all our stakeholders and reassure communities. We intend to assist the DHB to deliver the sustainable services that communities needs. There are no quick fixes. We are not here to cut services, we are in place to find a way to assist the DHB out of its financial difficulties over a longer term.

“We will be open and transparent with staff and the community and these meetings are a great way to start that process.”

Itinerary:

29 June 2015 – Dunedin

30 June 2015 – Balclutha, Gore and Invercargill

6 July 2105 – Ranfurly, Dunstan and Queenstown

7 July – Invercargill and Gore

9 July – Dunedin

10 July - Queenstown
