Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter weekly update 27 Jul - 8 Aug
The Palmerston North Rescue Helicopter completed eight missions over the period as follows;
Tue 28 An evening mission to Ohakune for a man in his 30's with a medical emergency. He was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital. The mission was completed with the crew using Night Vision Goggles.
Fri 31 A morning mission to Levin for a man in his 70's with a medical emergency. He was airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Sat 01 A morning mission for a man in his 40's who was involved in a motor vehicle accident while driving his truck on the Desert Road. Due to the weather he was transported by road to Taihape where he was met by the helicopter. He was then airlifted to Palmerston North Hospital.
Mon 03 An evening mission to Taihape for a 7 months old baby boy with a medical emergency. He was airlifted, along with his mum, to Wanganui Hospital. The mission was completed with the crew using Night Vision Goggles.
Wed 05 A midday mission to Raetihi for a 4 month old baby boy with a medical emergency. He was airlifted, along with his mum, to Wanganui Hospital. Later that evening the helicopter was sent to a motor vehicle accident south of Shannon involving 3 vehicles. There were multiple patients with the helicopter transporting a man with multiple injuries to Wellington Hospital. The rest of the patients were transported by road to Palmerston North Hospital.
Fri 07 A morning mission to Taihape for a 7 month old baby boy with a medical emergency. He was airlifted, along with his mum, to Wanganui Hospital.
Sat 08 A morning mission to Ohakune for a man in his 50's with a medical emergency. He was airlifted to Wanganui Hospital.
