Short delays on SH29A Tauranga this month

21 August 2015 | NZ Transport Agency - Waikato & Bay of Plenty

Short delays on SH29A Tauranga this month

The NZ Transport Agency advises motorists travelling on State Highway 29A Tauranga to expect short delays this month.

A 50km/h speed restriction, diversions and lane closures will be in place from Monday August 24 while contractors clear vegetation and carry out other work in preparation for the construction of the Maungatapu underpass.

The work will be carried out on weekdays between the hours of 9am and 4pm to minimise disruption to traffic.

The NZ Transport Agency says speed restrictions and stop/go traffic management will be in place at other road work sites around the Bay of Plenty and people should allow extra time when travelling around the region.

Sites where motorists can expect changes or delays of more than five minutes are detailed below to allow people to plan ahead.

SH2 Tauranga to Waihi Safety Improvements

Stop/go traffic management, lane changes and speed restrictions will be in place along parts of SH2 between Tauranga and Waihi this month as a major safety improvement programme continues.

Contractors will be working on nine sites on the route and motorists are advised to allow an extra 10 minutes when travelling on this route. The work is expected to be complete by late Sept.

The Transport Agency apologies for any inconvenience caused and thanks motorists for their patience during the works.
