EnduroCross
EnduroCross is new at the show this year. This exciting sport is a fusion between motocross and enduro in a series of sprint races over man-made obstacles making for spectacular viewing! The EnduroCross team will also be holding demonstrations on the Village Green.
Fun for the Kids
Children can check out the new and improved and much bigger Mike Greer Homes City Farmyard, catch all the awesome entertainment from The Court Theatre and Captain Festus McBoyle on the Tip Top Family Lawn, get their faces painted, try out the big Farm Machinery and so much more!
Zilco Scurry NZ Racing
Scurry racing is horses or ponies in carts, racing against the clock around a course of cones with balls balanced on top. Knocking a ball off incurs a 2-sectond time penalty. The fastest after adding any penalties wins. Top level drivers need to be highly skilled with both speed and accuracy being required to win. Scurry racing is fast, exciting and easy to follow.
NZ Mounted Rifles
In the
100-year anniversary of our troops landing at Gallipoli,
it’s very fitting that the Canterbury Mounted Rifles will
be holding demonstrations at The Show this year. Members of
the Public will have the opportunity to wander through
“Camp Gallipoli” located at the Main Entrance. A special
parade will also take place every day with horse and riders
in full military regalia. Riders will also demonstrate Tent
Pegging. Tent Pegging is a fast=paced ancient cavalry sport
and definitely worth a
watch!
