QLDC roading update 12.45pm

QLDC roading update 12.45pm

• The Glenorchy Road will reopen at both ends from 1pm. Drivers can expect delays as work is still continuing to clear fallen trees and debris.

• An arborist is assessing several trees that appear unstable to see whether they need to be felled.

• This may result in rolling closures through the afternoon as the work continues.

• The wind was so severe overnight that signs were snapped off, as well as trees being blown down.

• Work is also continuing to clear fallen trees from the Speargrass Flat Road. An update on likely reopening can be expected within an hour, but alternative routes are available.

• The Moke Lake Road is also closed by fallen trees, with clearance to get underway shortly when resources become available.

• The Kinloch Road is also closed by flooding. Crews have yet to make a full assessment of the road and no estimate is available yet of likely reopening.

• Rubbish and recycling collections in Glenorchy have been rescheduled from today to Sunday due to the road closures.
