Crankworx Brings Luxury Transformer Truck to Rotorua
Crankworx Brings Luxury Transformer Truck to
Rotorua
10 December
2015- Crankworx Rotorua features jaw-dropping flips
and tricks and in 2016 a 30-tonne luxury transformer truck
will be the perfect spot to take in all the action.
The 18-wheel Mitsubishi Fuso truck, called Nation, will unfold to be the event’s official VIP Centre. Located in the heart of the Crankworx action - with an eight-metre oak bar, upstairs viewing platform, top quality sounds and six HD TV’s live streaming the events – the VIP Centre is the place to be this March.
Crankworx Rotorua event director Tak Mutu says for an event like this, which is part of a World Tour, you’ve got to lift the game to meet the epic vibe of this international festival.
“The Nation VIP truck is the only one of its kind in Australasia. It provides the perfect platform to create a VIP experience like no other on the World Tour and we can’t wait to reveal it,” said Mr Mutu. “Nestled amongst the action of the racing, when the dirt isn’t flying, VIPs can rub shoulders with some of the world’s best riders.”
Nation has featured at other high-profile events in New Zealand, however being at the centre of a mountain biking festival is a first.
“Set up takes just six hours
and the truck travels from Wairarapa overnight to bypass all
the traffic with its mammoth size. It’s something cool and
different to experience,” said Mr Mutu.
The 16m long
semi trailer transforms to an area of 220sq/m. For those
keen for a cold beer, the eight tap premium keg beer system
will definitely do the trick.
The Nation mobile event
centre was custom-built a decade ago for the purpose of
touring the country as part of a Treaty of Waitangi road
show. The unit evolved in subsequent years, with the
addition of a bar, to become a fully mobile function centre.
In 2014 Liz Pollock and vintner Paddy Borthwick took over
the mobile centre.
