Environment Canterbury chief executive appointed for
further two-year term
Environment Canterbury
Commissioners today agreed to reappoint the Council’s
chief executive, Bill Bayfield, for a further two-year term
from June 13, 2016.
Mr Bayfield was originally appointed
chief executive on March 17, 2011 for a period of five
years.
Under the Local Government Act, the Council
can, without advertising the vacancy, reappoint the
incumbent chief executive for a term of up to two years,
subject to performance review. This requirement has been
fulfilled.
