Cooler weather on the way - next week

Auckland can expect a respite to the hot and humid weather, but not this week.
Temperatures are expected to remain in the mid to high 20’s over the next five days, with rain or showers featuring from midweek.

By the weekend, the sun returns, and with it, cooler day and night time temperatures. That air conditioner can, at last, take a break.

Network summary for week ending 14 February 2016

Electricity

In one of our most unusual incidents, a house hit a pole last week. The incident occurred on the corner of Sinton Road and Clarks Lane in Hobsonville when a house being moved clipped a pole early Friday morning.

Vector crews also attended four car v pole incidents in Penrose, Glenfield, Kumeu and Mt Albert. A car also hit a pillar in Clendon.

Crews attended six house and building fires which occurred in Parnell, Blockhouse Bay, Ponsonby, Onehunga, Flat Bush and Stanmore Bay. This was at the request of the Fire Service in order to isolate the electricity supply for safety.

Gas

Third party contractors caused damage to our networks in Papamoa, Blockhouse Bay, Ponsonby, Onehunga, Flat Bush and Stanmore Bay.
