Auckland Disability Law (ADL) and ImagineBetter are pleased to offer three free workshops in 2016.

Tuesday 22 March - 12:30pm-2:30pm. Register by Tuesday 15 March 2016
Employment Law. Aimed at users and agents who employ people using Individualised Funding (IF)

• Do you use IF or are you an agent for someone who does? Come along to find out what your legal position is when you are on IF and what your legal obligations are as an employer. This workshop will help you to understand what you must do as an employer using IF, and help you to have a successful relationship with your employees.


Tuesday 6 April - 12:30pm-2:30pm. Register by Wednesday 29 March 2016
Planning for Employment & Consumer Law (Your Employment Rights). Be careful about what you sign. Aimed at people 16 years plus.

• Are you looking for work or just started work? Are you unsure of what you are entitled to? Come along to find out what your legal rights are when you are looking for work and when you find work. This workshop will help to make sure that your employment relationship starts off on the right foot.


Tuesday 24 May - 12:30pm-2:30pm. Register by Tuesday 17 May 2016
Police and Court (Your Legal Rights). Aimed at people 17 years plus.

• At one time or another, you may come into contact with the Police and the Courts. Do you know what your rights are when dealing with the Police and Courts? Come along to find out what your rights are. This workshop will help you deal with the police and courts in a confident way.

Please Register for these workshops by phoning (with your name and contact number if you reach the answer phone) or by emailing info@adl.org.nz with the following information:

• Name, email address, contact phone number, date and title of the workshop/s you wish to attend, and access requirements.

• The sessions are free. Tea and coffee will be served during registration and networking time, which is between 12:30-1pm. The workshop welcome starts at 1pm.


Access Requirements

• Venue: CCS Disability Action (Kauri Room,),14 Erson Ave, Royal Oak. The venue is wheelchair accessible.

• If you require an NZSL interpreter to be booked, please advise us. For the Employment Law and Individualised Funding session (22 March 2016), please advise us if you require an NZSL interpreter by Tuesday 15 March 2016 .

• Please let us know if you require written resources ahead of time for your braille reader.

• If you need workshop material adapted for your understanding, you are welcome to bring a support person, caregiver, family member or agency with you.

• Please let us know if you have any other access requirements.
