Five in hospital after Riversdale incident

St John has transported a number of patients from the scene of this incident near Riversdale.

One patient, male, aged in his 60s, has been flown by Otago rescue helicopter to Dunedin hospital ED in a very serious condition; this patient was the patient trapped in the silo.

We have transported 4 patients to Gore Hospital in a minor to moderate condition; these patients had been overcome by fumes,

Four other patients were assessed at the scene and have not been transported anywhere – non-injury.

This is the final update from St John on this incident, we will not be releasing any more information unless the situation changes.
