Water alert normal

Water alert normal

The water restrictions for Gisborne city residents have been lifted today.
There are no longer any restrictions for using outdoor sprinklers and or using hoses by hand.

Water supply team leader Marcus Koll says the levels in the Mangapoike dams at are looking healthy enough for this time of the season and the amount of water being used by households and industry is stable.

Dam levels are at 60% and water demand over last week has been nowhere near peak demand.

“We thank everyone for their effort in conserving their outdoor water use, particularly through the dry hot weather we’ve had.”
“Even though our water alert level is back to normal we do ask people to always using water wisely.”
