SCIRT Traffic Update for the week starting Monday 2 May 2016

Wilsons Road, Waltham

• From Friday 29 April road repairs between Steven St and Charles St will take about 2 days. Watch for stop/go signs around the work site to maintain two-way traffic flows.

Governors Bay Road, restrictions for 8 weeks, expect delays

From the week of 9 May Governors Bay Rd will be reduced to one lane between 884 and the reservoir while SCIRT lays 675 metres of new water main. The area is near the intersection with Dyers Pass Rd, on the Lyttelton side of the intersection. The work will take about 8 weeks.

• Two-way traffic will be maintained with Stop/Go temporary traffic lights.

Governors Bay Road, Rapaki, restrictions for 2 weeks

• Retaining wall repairs outside 191 have closed the westbound lane around the work site. Two-way traffic is maintained with temporary traffic lights.

Edgeware Road, St Albans, 3 months restrictions

• A section of Edgeware Rd, between Hills Rd and Geraldine St, is one-way for about 3 months due to wastewater repairs.

• Traffic going east from Hills Rd will be detoured into Edward Ave and Barbadoes St.

Warrington Street, St Albans

• Warrington St, between Francis Ave and Barbadoes St, is one-way eastbound until Sunday 15 May. The detour for westbound traffic is Barbadoes St, Edward Ave, Forfar St and back onto Warrington.

• SCIRT is repairing road and footpaths in Warrington St between Hills Rd and Woodville Street for 6 weeks. Two-way traffic will be maintained with lane shifts.

Barbadoes Street, St Albans

• Barbadoes St is one-way southbound between Canon St and Bealey Ave. The restriction will be uplifted soon.

Shirley Road, short detour

• Traffic going east towards The Palms shopping centre is being detoured, because of culvert repairs. The detour is Emmett St, Orontes St and Quinns Rd back onto Shirley Rd. Traffic management is scheduled to be uplifted by late May.

North Parade, Richmond

• Work at night is underway on North Parade, between Banks Ave and Randall St, to reconstruct the carriageway, for about one more week.

• Traffic will be one-way northbound at night with detours for southbound traffic.Please keep supporting local businesses in the Richmond area.

Woodham Road - Gloucester Street intersection

• Wastewater work is complete and the intersection is now open.

.

Woodham Rd is closed at the intersection with Worcester St for about 7 months.

• Access to Woodham Rd, east of Worcester St, will be via Sewell St, Carnarvon St and Rowcliffe Crescent.

• Eastbound traffic on Woodham Rd will be diverted via Ngarimu St.

• A “no entry” sign is in place in Woodham Rd at Kerrs Rd and at Ngarimu St.

• The large wastewater main trunk, called the Southern Relief, is being repaired.

Worcester Street, Linwood

• The street remains one-way southbound between Dacre St and Linwood Ave.

Wainoni Road, one-way

• Traffic will be one-way between Breezes Rd and Portsmouth St until mid-May for final carriageway repairs. Citybound commuters are detoured into Portsmouth St, Breezes and back on to Wainoni Rd.

New Brighton Road

• New Brighton Rd is closed, between Palmers Rd and Baker St, for 2 months for major wastewater and storm water repairs and road resurfacing. The detour is Pratt St, Keyes Rd and Bowhill Rd.

Bassett Street, Burwood, detour

• Bassett St, between Travis Rd and Parnwell St, will be one-way northbound from Tuesday 26 April for around 2 weeks. The detour is Parnwell Street.

• Two-way traffic will be maintained in Bassett St, between Parnwell St and New Brighton Rd, using temporary traffic lights. Please expect delays and allow for extra time in your journey.

Bower Avenue, Parklands

• For about 4 weeks Bower Ave is one-way southbound between New Brighton Rd and Palmers Rd for carriageway reconstruction.. The detour for northbound traffic is Palmers Rd.

• Bower Ave, between Beach Rd and Kristen Pl, has a progressive road closure until June 2016 for wastewater work.

• Bower Ave is one-way southbound between Broadhaven Ave and 516 Bower Ave.

Beach Road, Parklands

The road closure on Beach Rd is now between Badger St and Pinewood Ave and will keep moving east towards the Beach Rd shops. The work is expected to take 4 more weeks.

Beach Rd, between Bower Ave and Effingham St, remains one-way eastbound for another week.

The section outside the shops- Naked Baker, Beach Road Fish Supply and North Beach Dairy - is two-way and parking is maintained. Please continue to support these local businesses.

Queenspark Drive, Parklands

Queenspark Dr is now open to two-way traffic outside Parklands Mall. .Please continue to support the shops at the Parklands Mall while SCIRT works are underway.

The next stage of work on Queenspark Drive is between Ashwood St and Brentwood St starting on 2 July.

Aranui -Wainoni

• This area has several road closures. Please take care. SCIRT is installing a new more earthquake-resilient vacuum wastewater system. See the Aranui map for road closures, bus routes and detours.

Breezes Road, Aranui, progressive one-way

Breezes Rd is one-way eastbound between Pages Rd and Cuthberts Rd. The detour is Cuthberts Rd, Nugent St, Shortland St, Pages Rd.

Breezes Road – between Wainoni Road and Hampshire Street

• Carriageway repair work is scheduled to start late May 2016, along this section of Breezes Road. It will be one-way southbound towards Pages Road for the duration of the work.
