Lyttelton Tunnel night work Thursday 19 May, 2016
NZ Transport Agency contractors are cleaning the
Lyttelton Tunnel this Thursday night, 19 May, 8 pm through
to Friday morning, 20 May, 6 am.
“This is part of standard maintenance for the tunnel, reducing it to one lane around the maintenance crew,” said Transport Agency Journey Manager Lee Wright. “There will be slight delays for late night and early morning road users as a result.”
Fuel tankers and other carriers of dangerous goods are not allowed access during this time.
Dangerous
goods transport which requires tunnel closures will be
allowed to pass through the tunnel before and after the
maintenance period:
• 7.00pm – 8.00pm
Thursday night
• 6.00am – 7.00am Friday
morning
