Bay Bush Action Trust has won the Supreme Award at the 2016 Trustpower Far North District Community Awards.
The Awards were announced and presented tonight (Thursday, 26 May) at a function at the Turner Centre, Kerikeri.
For winning the Supreme Award, Bay Bush Action Trust received a framed certificate, a trophy and $1,500 prize money. Bay Bush Action Trust now has the opportunity to represent the district at the 2016 Trustpower National Community Awards, which are being held in Rotorua in March 2017.
In total, Trustpower has given away over $5,000 to various community groups through tonight’s Awards.
Trustpower Community Relations Representative Emily Beaton says Bay Bush Action Trust are going to do a fantastic job at representing their district on the national stage.
“These volunteers are walking the talk and getting stuck in to make a real difference to the wildlife and biodiversity in their area.
They are connecting the community with their environment and showing everyone involved that they too can be the protectors of this beautiful slice of New Zealand.”, says Miss Beaton.
