Gallery and Tuatara Open Late join Te Papa, Pātaka
(Porirua), Mahara Gallery (Waikanae), The Dowse (Lower Hutt)
and Expressions (Upper Hutt) to celebrate with live music,
exhibitions and special events after dark. Enjoy tours of Jealous Saboteurs, music with DJs
Riki Gooch and Joe Lindsay, flipbook activity table, the
Amazing Travelling Photobooth, as well as supper treats from
La Boca Loca and a cash bar. Jump on board a free Artnight
bus and enjoy!

Time in te Ao Maori: Patu Hohepa, Huhana Smith and Ngahina Hohaia

Perceptions and experiences of time in te Ao Māori are explored in this talk for Matariki, a time of renewal, memories and reconnections. Kaumātua Patu Hohepa, former Māori Language Commissioner, shares his theories of time alongside artists Huhana Smith and Ngahina Hohai.
Matariki Development Festival Readings

MDF 2016 is an international script development festival featuring new works by tangata whenua writers from Aotearoa, Australia and Canada.
This year, it presents new writing by Hōhepa Waitoa with He Kura E Huna Ana, Jamie McCaskill with The Biggest and Mīria George with The Night Mechanics.
