SCIRT Traffic Update for the week starting Monday 13 June 2016

Central City

Durham Street Overbridge will be closed overnight on Wednesday 15 June and Thursday 16 June from 8pm to 5am for lifting of two piers for repairs.

• From Tuesday 7 June for about 4 weeks Moorhouse Ave, between Antigua St and Stewart St, going west will be reduced to 2 lanes from 3 lanes for wastewater works. Antigua St will be closed to northbound traffic between Hazeldean Rd and Moorhouse Ave.

• Wastewater repairs are taking place on Barbadoes St between Nova Place and Chester St East in the central city. Two lanes of traffic are maintained on Barbadoes St. Detours are in place for westbound traffic on Kilmore St crossing Barbadoes St.

St Albans

• From Monday 6 June SCIRT is doing wastewater segment repairs along Barbadoes St, between Warrington St and Edgeware Rd, for about 3 weeks. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

Edgeware Road, between Hills Rd and Geraldine St, is one-way for wastewater repairs. Traffic going west from Hills Rd is being detoured into Edward Ave and Barbadoes St.

Avonside/Linwood/Richmond

Avonside Drive is closed between Gloucester St and Retreat Rd for wastewater repairs.

Gloucester St will be one-way heading south between Dallington Tce and Woodham Rd. Northbound traffic will be detoured on Ngarimu St and Avonside Drive.

Woodham Road is closed at the intersection with Worcester St for 7 months for major wastewater repairs.

• Access to Woodham Rd, east of Worcester St, will be via Sewell St, Carnarvon St and Rowcliffe Crescent.

• Eastbound traffic on Woodham Rd will be diverted via Ngarimu St.

• A “no entry” sign is in place in Woodham Rd at Kerrs Rd and at Ngarimu St.

• The large wastewater main trunk, called the Southern Relief, is being repaired.

• From Monday 30 May for about 3 months, North Avon Rd is closed between North Parade and Flesher Ave for wastewater works. The detour will be North Parade, Medway St and Flesher Ave.

Hoon Hay

• From Tuesday 7 June SCIRT is repairing the road, footpath and kerb and channel between 74 and 114 Sparks Rd. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

• At the end of June a one-way system will be in place on Sparks Rd when SCIRT begins a full road reconstruction.

Aranui -Wainoni

• This area has several road closures. Please take care. SCIRT is installing a new more earthquake-resilient vacuum wastewater system. See the Aranui map for road closures, bus routes and detours.

• Kerb, channels and footpath repairs have started on Pages Rd between Shuttle Drive (Cowles Stadium) and Porchester St and will take about 6 weeks. Two-way traffic will be maintained.

Breezes Rd, between 237 and Gosport St, is one-way northbound for about 8 weeks. This section is between Pages Rd and Wainoni Rd.

Breezes Rd is one-way eastbound between Pages Rd and Cuthberts Rd. The detour is Cuthberts Rd, Nugent St, Shortland St, Pages Rd.

New Brighton/Burwood

New Brighton Rd is closed, between Palmers Rd and Baker St, for 2 months for wastewater, storm water and road repairs. The detour is Pratt St, Keyes Rd and Bowhill Rd.

New Brighton Rd is also closed between Anzac Dr and Wainoni Rd while the road is rebuilt.

Palmers Rd is closed from 183 to the New Brighton Rd intersection for wastewater repairs, next to where there is an existing road closure on New Brighton Rd. The detour is via Bower Ave and Palmers Rd.

Travis Rd, between Blue Gum Place and Atlantis St, is closed for SCIRT wastewater, storm water and road repairs which will take about 2 months. Traffic is diverted around the site using the former QE11 slip road.

Port Hills/Lyttelton/Governors Bay

• From Wednesday 8 June for about 3 weeks road, kerb, channel and footpath repairs are taking place on Mt Pleasant Rd in two different sections. Two-way traffic is maintained with Stop/Go management and traffic lights.

Godley Quay, Lyttelton, between Cyrus Williams Quay and Voelas Road is closed to replace an earthquake-damaged water main. The repairs will take about 3 months. Two-way traffic is maintained with temporary traffic lights.

Governors Bay Rd is reduced to one lane on the Lyttelton side of the intersection with Dyers Pass Rd, while SCIRT lays a new water main. The work will take about 8 weeks. Two-way traffic will be maintained with Stop/Go temporary traffic lights.

Parklands

Mairehau Road has temporary traffic lights to maintain two-way traffic while road reconstruction between Putake Drive and Royal Park Drive takes place for about a month.

Flemington Ave is closed for about 4 weeks for road repairs. Please use Pinewood Ave for the detour.

Bower Ave, between Sylvia St and Kristen Pl, has a road closure until late June for wastewater work.

Bower Ave is one-way southbound between Broadhaven Ave and 516 Bower Ave for about 2 more weeks.

• The road closure outside the Naked Baker, Beach Road Fish Supply and North Beach Dairy has been uplifted.

• Two-way traffic is now being maintained on Beach Rd. However traffic signals are in place at Flemmington Ave so expect minor delays.

• The section outside the shops, Naked Baker, Beach Road Fish Supply and North Beach Dairy, has had temporary additional parking installed while work continues in the area. Please continue to support these local businesses.

Queenspark Drive is closed between Brentwood St and Chadlington St for about 2 more weeks. It is open to two-way traffic outside Parklands Mall. Please continue to support the shops there.

Donnington St has stop/go traffic management to maintain two-way traffic.
