Enjoy a month of extraordinary dining this August

Restaurant Month returns for its sixth consecutive year, attracting a diverse line-up of international chefs and showcasing over 100 special menu offers. With events set to stun the senses and create dining memories that will last a lifetime, there’s never been a better time to try something new this August.

Auckland: Thursday 16th June: Restaurant Month has established itself as one of Auckland’s culinary highlights. This August, the month-long dining celebration returns with sensational menus and events specially put together by the participating restaurants, that will tempt people into trying something extraordinary.

Presented by Heart of the City – the Central City Business Association, alongside headline sponsor American Express, Restaurant Month 2016 will appeal to a wide variety of taste buds and wallets. Serving up its most popular events, including Street Eats and The Chef Dining Series, and a side of new culinary experiences, this year’s line-up will be sure to make this a time for Aucklanders and visitors to break out of their winter malaise and make the most of all things edible.

With the full event schedule to be announced on 4 July, 2016 organisers have hinted at an outstanding selection of international talent bringing a taste of their own kind of magic to our city. These chefs will partner with some of the central city’s best loved restaurants to deliver a series of exceptional dining experiences.

Over 100 restaurants will be part of this year’s Restaurant Month event, offering great value special menus at three attractive price points: $25, $45 and $55+. Many restaurants will also host their own dining events, ranging from a 15 dish vegetarian festival to a long, long Italian lunch to a dessert filled moveable feast on foot.

Viv Beck, Heart of the City’s Chief Executive, says “Restaurant Month has become a tradition for the city that is eagerly anticipated and it continues to deliver a strong return in both a financial and social sense”.

“We’re continually heartened by the enthusiasm and passion our restaurants bring to the event. It provides a great experience for both restaurants and foodies alike. We’re excited to be an integral part of such a rewarding event that brings the city to life during what is traditionally a quieter time.”

The full Restaurant Month 2016 event calendar and menus will be available on www.heartofthecity.co.nz/restaurant-month from the 4th July 2016.
