Public feedback sought on Waterfall Park SHA proposal

Public feedback sought on Waterfall Park SHA proposal

Queenstown Lakes District Council has begun informal consultation on an Expression of Interest to develop a Special Housing Area near Arrowtown, along the Arrowtown Lake Hayes Road – Waterfall Park Special Housing Area.

The proposal is on land that is partly located in the Waterfall Park Resort Zone and partly located in the Rural General zone of both the Operative and Proposed District Plans.

The proposal will be considered by the Council at its meeting on 28 July.

While the Housing Accords and Special Housing Areas Act 2013 doesn’t provide for formal consultation on the establishment of special housing areas, QLDC’s elected members are interested to hear local views on the proposal.

There is an online feedback form and the Expression of Interest on the QLDC website http://www.qldc.govt.nz/your-council/your-views/waterfall-park-special-housing-area/. Feedback closes at 5pm on 22 July, 2016.
